FLY FISHING for GAR

I goofed up and let a picture of some of my gyotaku art get in above, I'll just leave it, sence its in there I'll explane it, the big gar in the print is my largest 56" and 26 lbs. it was caught on a 12 ft. crappie rod rigged with a spining reel and trolling.

FLY FISHING for GAR

This is my new thin shad fly rod lure, it looks more like a real shad bait with its thin silhouette body and big eyes. It cast better than the other lures because it has less nylon and will not pick up as much water. It is designed for the nylon to pull away from the body and let the nylon catch better. The nylon can be easily straightened out and put back in position on the body, a fine wire holds it in place and you are ready to fish again. This is the lure that I caught the first gar in 2006 on.
