Well I did it one better. First gar this morning hit the long rod again. 51" and 13 lbs & 11 oz. See pictures on my blog site. Off to a good start for 2007. GarManJack

First Gar

First Gar 2007

Well I finally caught one, first one of 2007. I saw a few boils but could not catch one casting so I put out my two long rods ( 12 ft. crappie rods with spinning reels attached) one out each side of my pontton boat and three fly rods out the back all with the economy 8' lures on and got astrike on one of the long rods. Man its good to get that first one of the season.

These are my new fly rod lures, I call them my (rainbow) line. Because as you can see the bright colors. they are great, easy to cast and they come with a built in leader and also you can change the tail as it becomes worn down.
